Gm Gents, we are so back…
And by back I mean back in the lab. Late night at my standing desk, Red light panels beaming 680nm wavelengths directly at my spinal column, blue light blockers on, ripping japaneze jazz sipping on a glycine cherry juice gerolsteiner spritzer with a couple mg of nicotine in my upper lip.
I took a break from the health rabbit holes. I got to a point where I thought I knew enough. But I could have not been more wrong. Turns out it was never about what I was learning, but that I was simply learning. Nothing feels better than progress towards a mission. A never ending pursuit that puts a fire under your ass and makes all the problems around you dissolve into insignificance. I got too caught up in current events. Focused too much on what I “should” be doing rather than what I ought to be doing. But that is no more.
You see, I have a very specific set of skills. Attributes that make doing the ordinary impossible and the extraordinary inevitable. I simply must do what I must do. Otherwise my brain literally unravels into rumination and insanity.
So I am back, standing at my desk with 15 tabs open and 37 supplement bottles in front of me. A wall full of whiteboards with scribbles of amino acid sequences, Jungian archetypes, and tangential brain dumps. Its time I share some of these with you all.
The BioHack Stack
Don’t take this as a protocol, but rather a stream of experiments and implementations I’m lab ratting on myself. This is NOT medical advice and you should not implement all of these. They merely serve as starting points for your own rabbit holes so you too can chase the never-ending pursuit of becoming a biological Übermensch. I digress.
1. Topical Magnesium Chloride
I’ve been absolutely DOUSING myself in Topical Magnesium chloride. Buy ancient minerals magnesium flakes and mix with distilled water. Spray on:
Neck
Feet
Lower back
Scalp
Pelvic area (and your fellas)
Any problem areas
Immediate tension release & relaxation. GI issues like dysbiosis, leaky gut, and low stomach acid inhibit magnesium absorption.Topical magnesium bypasses your digestive system and goes straight into bloodstream and tissues.
Spraying on specific areas locally delivers magnesium where its most needed (for muscle relaxation or ATP production) Spraying on androgenic tissues (like traps, neck, gonads etc) may enhance androgen function due to magnesium cofactor role in 5-alpha reductase (enzyme that converts T into DHT).
Transdermal magnesium has shown to help with peripheral neuropathy and increasing serum magnesium levels. Great for:
Reducing muscle cramps & soreness
Improving sleep and relaxation
Enhancing skin health
Decalcifying tissue (especially the scalp)
Bypassing gut discomfort from oral magnesium
My Protocol: Spray on scalp, shoulders & achilles tendons before cardio. Bottom of feet and pelvic area before bed (daily).
2. Lactobacillus Reuteri
I had a 3 month period where I felt the best I ever have. Zero anhedonia, unlimited energy, total presence. I looked at my logs from that period and I was spamming L. Reuteri. This is hands down my favorite probiotic strain.
L. Reuteri inhibits harmful bacteria & fungi, while sparing beneficial flora. It strengthens tight junctions in the gut lining, preventing leaky gut. It is an immunomodulatory powerhouse, staving off infections & inflammation. It reduces bone loss, enhances oral health, and improves insulin sensitivity (great for shredmaxxing).
But I like it for its effect Testosterone, GABA, and Oxytocin.
L.Reuteri supports GABA receptor expression; A key lever for reducing anxiety, improving mood, and enhancing calmness. Some strains can produce GABA themselves.
L. Reuteri enhances oxytocin production. I’m a firm believer oxytocin is what most of us are missing. It enhances bonding, trust, and social connection. Its a cortisol agonist, reducing stress & anxiety. It accelerates wound healing and tissue repair (great for gains), supports DHT and protects the brain from inflammation and emotional trauma(!)
As for testosteorne, L. Reuteri increased testicle size in rats, more leydig cells, and higher testosterone levels, even when fed unhealthy diets. Particularly with strain BM36301
Studies pointed to L. Reuteri’s potent anti-inflammatory action as the key driver, which reaffirms two hypotheses:
Gut health is essential for overall health
Inflammation is the primary cause of age-related decline.
In short. This probiotic makes me feel great. I typically go a week or two spamming anti-microbials: Oregano oil, Black seed oil, and Pau D’arco. I then incorporate L.reuteri daily for 45-60 days. This builds a less competitive environment for L.reuteri colonies to repopulate in my microbiome (as far as bro science goes)
My protocol:
