Sup guys,
I’m going to be real with you. I’m kind of retarded. I’ve never had a real job, didn’t read a full book until I was 21, and was never really exceptional at anything. But what I did have going for me was that I knew what I wanted and was stubborn enough to find a way to get there.
My brain just isn’t wired like society wants it to be. I’m a self-proclaimed hunter-type. My neurology is hardwired for eating berries and chasing buffalo with spears, not a cubicle and KPIs.
This isn’t good, nor is it bad. It just is. I was prescribed meds for most of my teens to try and feign normality. But in spite of the damage I accrued from Adderal, accutane, and SSRIs, I managed to make something of myself.
I’m not going to sit here and pretend like I’m uber-successful. But I identified where I wanted to be in life and beelined to it in a couple of years while drinking Coronas in third-world beach towns and working a few hours a week.
I did this by a) being smart enough to know that traditional success heuristics didn’t work for me and b) being stubborn enough to go through the work of building my own.
I didn’t work hard, I worked smart. While others were grinding away at the outer work, I was focused on the inner work. I learned exactly how my brain worked and learned to play games I was uniquely suited to win.
I realized the path society wanted me to go down would be a one-stop ticket to mediocrity, so I created my own.
The result? I achieved my goals on easy mode.
I’ve been building on these frameworks for years. I’ve applied them at every domain. Every project, every business, every endeavor ever.
Frameworks make everything easier. Instead of 1000 decision, you operate from just a handful of lenses. “Is this or is this not in alignment with [x] framework?”
If self-help books and productivity Youtube videos aren’t cutting it, maybe we’re from the same cloth. So check these out. Chew on them. Welcome them into your mind without judgement and adapt them to your circumstances.
Non-Traditional Success Frameworks for the Non-Traditional Brain
Play Games You Are Uniquely Suited to Win
If you’re going to leverage one framework, make it this one. Play. Games. Designed. For. You.
Work hard at the things you’re good at. Dedicate yourself to that which you enjoy.
IDENTIFY YOUR ADVANTAGES:
What do you do easily that others struggle with?
What feels like play to you but looks like work to others?
Where do you outperform with minimal effort?
Choose games with high leverage. I know good chefs working 80 hour weeks to bring in $60k and hate their passion in the process. I know okay cooks working 3 day weeks from Monaco bringing in doctor salaries posting recipes on Instagram.
Pick games that pay exponentially, not linearly. Design your life around it. Eliminate anything that takes away from your edge. Optimize your strengths until you’re a category of one.
Nobody can compete with you because my game is built around me, not vice versa.
Leverage Force Multipliers
Become T-shaped. Build a base layer of competency to amplify your unique edge. Like a swiss army knife with a katana inside. Being a specialist gets you hired, being T shaped makes you the boss.
Force multipliers amplify your core skill. Pick a vertical then stack the multipliers:
